Ferienwohnung Haus Bittel ★★
Schweiz, Wallis, Zermatt
The apartment was very well situated, near to the centre of Zermatt. It was directly on the stream (the Triftbach), so we had the noise of the water, but it didn't bother us, but if "white noise" bothers you, you should think about it. We were hiking in mid-June, so we were close to many trails (to Zmutt, to Trift, etc., and to major lifts such as the Gornergratbahn and the Sunnegga Express, etc.). The apartment had a washing machine and a dryer in the apartment, which is extremely handy. (On the German language description, it said the washing machine was for Alleinbenutzung, but in fact the machine was in the bathroom in the apartment, with the dryer on top of it.) Everything seemed to work and there was plenty of space (there were two of us plus our adult daughter). The people at Mountain Exposure were very helpful. The apartment was a bit uphill from the Bahnhofstrasse, but not very much (I have stayed in an apartment in Zermatt that was several metres higher than the main street). There actually was a small Matterhorn view from the kitchen area. The wifi worked well -- we had a number of computers, iPhones, iPads, etc among the three of us, and speed was no problem.
