In August 2012 I visited this holiday house for one week with my wife and two daughters. We had a truly wonderful time. The house is very well equipped and is set in a really lovely location overlooking Lipnice Castle and the surrounding picturesque countryside. It is a modern property and can comfortably sleep four people. The bedrooms are not overly big, however the owners have compensated for this by placing clothes storage in the living room area. The garden is very spacious and well maintained. There is plenty of things to do at the house including bbq, croquet, outdoor bar skittles, badminton, and just simply relaxing on the sun loungers or the swing seat! Lipnice nad Sázavou is a very pleasant and quiet village with a few amenities including a post office and a local ‘well stocked’ shop. It is only a short drive to Svetla nad Sázavou in one direction and Humpolic in the other, and each have more shops and facilities including larger supermarkets. One nice half day out is a visit inside Lipnice Castle. This is really well worth it and the views from the top of the castle are epic! Also remember to visit the Jaroslav Hasek museum near the castle (author of ‘The Good Soldier Švejk’). Hasek was born in Lipnice and lived there most of his life. He died in 1923 and is buried in the local cemetery. Other lovely towns to visit include Telc, Jihlava and Havlickuv Brod. We found that Telc seemed to cater more for English tourists than many other places visited, and in Jihlava we went to the Zoo – this was great! If you’re looking for a nice outdoor swimming facility during your stay and not sure you want to swim in the Lipnice granite crack, then we would recommend the outdoor swimming pools in Havlickuv Brod – these are very big and clean. There is also many other things to do there besides swimming, including tennis, badminton, and table tennis. It was nice to experience many different places during our stay and see some of the real Czech Republic. Tourists often just visit Prague and thus get a very limited experience of what the country truly has to offer. We highly recommend this house in Lipnice nad Sázavou and hope to be able to stay there again sometime in the future. Few words can express just how wonderful we felt the accommodation was and what a truly relaxing time we had. No Internet and no TV! Just simply brilliant! This was certainly a great find for a lovely family holiday in the Czech Republic... without doubt 10 out of 10!
